Sound familiar?

It's very common, and it isn't your fault. Most advice leaves out the parts that matter most for us. This guide puts them back in.

The method

Five steps, one at a time

  1. 1
Name your markBrown marks where spots used to be are what most of this guide is for. A few kinds of dark mark need a doctor first.
  2. 2
Stop what's making new onesSpots, ingrown hairs, eczema, rubbing and picking. No cream keeps up while new marks are still forming.
  3. 3
Protect every morningSunscreen does more than any serum. On deep skin, visible light matters too.
  4. 4
Correct, one thing at a timeA retinoid at night, then azelaic acid in the morning, then a serum if you want one.
  5. 5
Check at twelve weeksCompare your photos, then carry on, cut back, add one thing, or see a doctor.

Questions

Good to know

Who is it for?

Anyone with hyperpigmentation on dark skin, on the face or the body. It's written for Black and deep skin tones.

Do I have to read all 64 pages?

No. The "start here" page sends you straight to your part, and page 5 has the whole method on one screen.

Will I need to buy lots of products?

No. You add one thing at a time, with at least four weeks between each, and the shopping list links to every product I recommend.

How long until I see a difference?

You check your photos at twelve weeks. Most marks take 6 to 12 months to fade, and deeper colour can take longer. The guide is honest about that from the start.

Is this medical advice?

No, it's education. It also tells you which marks need a doctor first, and when to see one if the routine isn't enough.
